That's all I GET?!?!?!

So a big part of trying to eat this 'food' and work on my weight for real has been adjusting to what an acutal, REAL portion size should be.   I have found, to my surprise (but I know it's not surprising to nutritionists/dieticians/doctors and others in-the-know) that these seemingly 'tiny' portions are actually enough.   I've posted a picture of my pancake this morning.  Yes, you will see some sugar free syrup on top.  I'm sure my health coach will have a hissy as it's "modifying" but the choc. chips in the batter just aren't enough!  Sorry.  I posted it, because for once it was the PERFECT pancake, brown, the right thickness, nice shape.  So, I ate it and guess what?!  Sure, you guessed, I'm content.  I won't eat again for another 2 hours (and it's been a full 1/2 hour at this point since I ate the pancake).  But I'm actually satisfied with my level of fullness.  Yea.  This is such a happy thing.   I'm certainly learning to really rejoice in little, teeny, tiny accomplishments.  I'm finally figuring out that skinny people are skinny because they eat like skinny people.   I THINK (and I stress that word) I too can eventually eat like a skinny person, but man it's hard work to undo 25+ years of thinking a certain way.
Now I'm off to the post-office and then a meeting with my boss.  Laura this part's for you....I have a shaker and a shake and my giant cup of ice water.
Happy day all!

  1. I just want to say how proud I am of you! I recognize the revelations you're having because I've had them myself and they feel remarkable when you have them. I know they seem so easy once you have them but they are monumental. Keep up the good work! MB

  2. Thank you! I've said before, I know none of this is rocket science, but it SEEMS like rocket science TO ME and it definitely FEELS like rocket science TO ME.

  3. You can have chocolate chips, but not sugar free syrup?

S,ok. A pancake is real food in my book, although it's like eating cereal. I'm starving a hour later. Where's the protein in this prgram?

  4. Well you're right it seems to be kind of absent, but apparently everything is nutritionally balanced yadda, yadda. The bottom line is, it's working? So I'm not too unhappy with that? I do get eggs, and there are soups as well with chicken in them and chili too. And of course there's protien in the shakes. I worry for when I actually have to learn how to eat real food again. And sugar free syrup I don't think is such a big deal, but my health coach gets frustrated when I 'modify'. The plan if followed exactly is VERY effective, followed not-so-exactly, then you get modified results. But the truth to all of that is, it has to be bearable? Oh and by the way, I'm talking about 1 tsp of VERY, nearly miniscule chocolate chips that always end up in the middle of the pancake.
